O
Object A combination of radar targets and related information which are correlated in time and space. Object Correlator A SASS-C process which performs the chaining of surveillance data (e.g., radar plots and ADS messages) to form chains. Object Target A combination of radar targets and related information which are correlated in time and space
(e.g. an aircraft or Angel). Object Track A Track belonging to an identified Object (i.e. an aircraft, or something believed to be an aircraft, causing radar reflection). Objective
1- The lowest level in the organisational ambition plan. An objective will be considered achieved once a series of pre-determined tasks or work packages have been completed.
2- A clear and unambiguous statement of what a student is expected to be able to do with the minimum level of acceptable performance (quality, quantity and time allowed for completion) and conditions under which the performance is to be carried out.
Objective Warning Time The minimum of the adequate and maximum warning times. This is the optimum amount of warning time for a specific aircraft / aircraft pair. Oceanic Display and Planning System An automated digital display system which provides flight data processing, conflict probe and situation display for oceanic air traffic control. Octant See Sextant.

Off Bore Sight Angle
In monopulse SSR, the angle (calculated by the OBA processor) by which a target is off (away from) the bore sight, within the beam width of the antenna.
See Bore Sight. Off-Line Outside operational execution. Off-Line Input Input of data to system or application that is not directly connected to the actual operational environment. Off-Route Traffic Encompasses all GAT flying outside the published ATS Route Network. Off-Time The hours a particular individual or groups of individuals are not normally required to be at the workplace. (Tepas and Monk, 1987). Omega Ground-based, Very-Low Frequency (VLF) Long-Range Navigation system of the hyperbolic type, covering the entire Earth down to the surface from eight-ground-based transmitters. It provides world-wide, all-weather radio-navigation capability to air and surface users. One-on-one Approach In one-on-one approaches, a supporting peer or a mental health professional facilitates the discussion and guides the other person towards a plan of action. On-Line During operational execution. On-Line Input Input of data to system or application that is directly connected to the actual operational environment. On-Route Traffic Encompasses all GAT flying along the published ATS Routes Network. On-Site Processing Delay (ERSS) The time expressed in seconds between the moment a radar target for a given aircraft is detected and the moment when the corresponding report starts to be transmitted. On-the-Job Training The integration in practice of previously acquired job related routines and skills under the supervision of a qualified coach in a live traffic situation. The training enables student controllers to check out as operational controllers at a specific operational unit. On-the-Job Training Instructor A rated Air Traffic Controller with an Air Traffic Control Licence endorsed with a current qualification that permits the holder to carry out instruction in the operational environment for which the rating is issued. (Ref. Developed by Licensing Work Group). Open System Characteristics A system that has no feedback loop to control the process of the system, resulting in wild fluctuations of the output(s) according to the input variation(s). Open Systems Interconnection A protocol Architecture. A set of protocols used to implement the OSI reference model.
