Teach ware Software which is specifically used to provide CBT to a student (it is derived from teaching and software). Team An ATS team is a group of two or more persons who interact dynamically and interdependently with assigned specific roles, functions and responsibilities. They have to adapt continuously to each other to ensure the establishment of a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic. Team Oriented ATC Simulator Training Consists of the development of simulation scenarios for ATCOs including significant elements of TRM.
See Team Resource Management. Team Resource Management See Crew Resource Management.
Strategies for the best use all available resources - information, equipment and people - to optimise the safety and efficiency of Air Traffic Services, based on the following principles: developed by operational staff and human factors experts; linked to human factors incident and accident investigations; based on best practice from airline Crew Resource Management.
Team Simulation A real-time full-task simulation involving an individualised cell made of several students. A team consists of two or more students who are required to work together on related or interacting tasks. Teamwork The ability of a group of people to work well together. An integral pat of AIS. Team building should be considered throughout the training. This should be always kept in mind when considering the need for individualised training. Technical Manuals Booklets prepared by test publishers to provide technical information on a test. (CDSEPT, 1996). Technical Work Programme in the Air Navigation Field A publication comprised of two parts. The first contains broad statements of the overall work program for each specialised technical office, as approved by the Assembly. This part is not amended by the Air Navigation Commission (ANC) but is reviewed prior to each Assembly upon direction of the Council. Part 2 itemises specific tasks in the air navigation field which are expected to be dealt with by the ANC during the next three years. This part is developed and approved by the ANC. Temporary Segregated Area Airspace of defined dimensions, within which activities require the reservation of airspace for the exclusive use of specific users during determined period of time. Temporary Segregated Area (TSA) A defined portion of airspace in which the simultaneous operation of GAT and OAT is forbidden. When a TSA is active, the airspace is reserved for OAT. Tentative Track Track which has not yet reached the Confirmed status (low Confidence Track). Tentative Trajectory A trajectory proposal which may be in the process of edition, co-ordination acceptance or rejection, or, is stored for later use.

Terminal Airspace A generic term describing airspace surrounding an airport within which air traffic services are provided. It encompasses all other various terminology currently used throughout ECAC (i.e.: TMA, CTA, CTR, SRZ and ATZ airspace classifications) or any other nomenclature used to describe the airspace around an airport. Terminal Approach Radar A surveillance radar for the approach area. Typically, the range of such radar is limited to 110 km (60 NM) and the information renewal rate for mechanically rotating antennas is 4 to 5 seconds. Terminal Area A general term used to describe airspace in which approach control service or airport traffic control service is provided. Terminal ATC Automation The TATCA program provides automation functions to assist air traffic controllers by providing expert advisories to enhance traffic management planning. The two major functional capabilities of TATCA are the Converging Runway Display Aid (CRDA) functionality, and Centre/TRACON Automation (CTAS). Terminal Conflict Alert A function designed to alert radar controllers to existing or pending situations between tracked targets (known IFR or VFR aircraft) that require immediate attention/action. Terminal Control Area A control area normally established at the confluence of ATS routes in the vicinity of one or more major aerodromes. Terminal Manoeuvering Area (TMA) A volume of airspace of defined dimensions usually established at the confluence of ATS routes in the vicinity of one or more aerodromes. Terminal Weather Information for Pilots Terminal Weather Information for Pilots provides a cockpit display to pilots of weather information in specific terminal area. Termination The stopping of tracking process and the deletion of track information in the Track Data Base due to the lack of new plot information from the radar detection system. Test A standardisation and controlled method for measuring abilities, knowledge or personality of applicants based on a sample of behaviour. Test and Ferry Flying Flying associated with the testing of an aircraft or with its delivery or movement to another location for maintenance, hire or other planned use. Test-retest Reliability The stability of a test over time. This stability can be influenced due to changes in individuals, measurement errors, unclear test instructions, changes in the test administrators, guessing or the length of period of time between two testing sessions. Text The provision of written documents including paper handouts, posters, training manuals, etc. Theta Bearing or direction to a fixed point to define a line of position.
