Aerodrome Traffic Circuit The specified path to be flown by aircraft operating in the vicinity of an aerodrome. (Ref. ICAO Doc 9569 Definitions). Aerodrome Traffic Zone An area of defined dimensions established around an aerodrome for the protection of aerodrome traf-fic. (Ref. ICAO Doc 9569 Definitions). Aeronautical Administrative Communications 1- Communications used by aeronautical operating agencies related to the business aspects of opera-ting their flights and transport services. These com-munications are used for a variety of purposes, such as flight and ground transportation bookings, de-ployment of crew and aircraft or any other logistic purposes which maintains or enhances the effi-ciency of overall flight operation. 2- AAC is one of the four aeronautical communication services to be supported by the air-ground commu-nication system. Although the future communication system has the technical capability to support ad-ministrative communications via all facilities, there is an institutional limitation. ITU regulations prohibit the conduct of air-ground non-safety communications in all exclusive aeronautical allocated bands except in the satellite L-band allocation, provided safety traffic has a higher priority and preemptive access. Aeronautical Administrative Messages Messages regarding the operation or maintenance of facilities provided for the safety or regularity of aircraft operation, messages concerning the func-tioning of the aeronautical telecommunication ser-vices, and messages exchanged between govern-ment civil aviation authorities relating to aeronautical services. Aeronautical Database A database that is provided at the request of a user, and from which the user may make specific selections to support navigation needs. Note: The data-base is stored electronically and is typically updated at regular intervals, such as in accordance with the AIRAC 28 days cycle. It does not include data which can be entered manually by flight crew or operator. Aeronautical Fixed Service Systems Planning For Data Interchange Panel The ASPP, through its working group, continues its work to develop Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and guidance material for the interface of the common ICAO Data Interchange Network (ATN). Draft SARPs are expected to be available for consideration at the first meeting of the ATN Panel. The panel finished its activity and the remainder has been transferred to the ATN Panel. Aeronautical Fixed Services A telecommunication service between specific points provided primarily for the safety of air naviga-tion and for the regular, efficient and economical operation of air services.
