Eurocontrol Technical Specification The European Community definition of Eurocontrol Standard: Any technical specification, relating to physical characteristics, configuration, equipment, performance, personnel or procedures in respect of which it is accepted that uniform application is essential to the operation of an integrated air traffic system in the Member States and adopted as a Eurocontrol Standard in accordance with the provisions of the Eurocontrol Convention. European Air Navigation Planning Group An ICAO planning group whose main purpose is to ensure the continuous and coherent development of the European (EUR) regional plan as a whole and in relation to those of adjacent regions; to identify specific problems in the air navigation field and to propose, in appropriate form, resolving action addressed to parties concerned European Air Traffic Control Harmonisation and Implementation Programme A Eurocontrol management programme (in partnership with national administrations of the participating ECAC Member States) to achieve the operational and implementation objectives of the ‘ECAC Strategy’ for the 1990s for a harmonisation and progressive integration of the European ATC systems in the near future. European Air Traffic Control Harmonisation and Implementation Programme Area The area covered by the airspace of all ECAC Member States, with the exception of Oceanic Flight Information Regions (FIRs) and Iceland. European Air Traffic Control Harmonisation and Implementation Programme Project Board The overall management control-board of EATCHIP; composed of high-ranking officials of participating States, representation of the EC, the DG of Eurocontrol, observers from intergovernmental organisations (e.g. ICAO and NATO (CEAC)) and from other international organisations (e.g. IACA, IATA and ICAA (Europe)) representing user interests. European Air Traffic Control Harmonisation and Implementation Programme Project Leader Leader of the EATCHIP Project Team, reporting through the DG of Eurocontrol to the Project Board. European Air Traffic Control Harmonisation and Implementation Programme Project Team Responsible for the implementation of the project to the agreed time-scale and the day-to-day management of the programme under directions given by the Project Board. It is composed of Eurocontrol staff including some on secondment from participating States and suitable qualified personnel drawn from all sectors of industry and relevant institutions. European Civil Aviation Conference Area Reference Levels The ATC procedures and automated system functions considered necessary to achieve the operational and implementation objectives of the ECAC Strategy for the nineties.
