5.4.1.7 Perseverance
He should never show that he is about to give up even in a seemingly hopeless emergency situation. He must display that “fight till the end and never give up spirit”.

5.5 ADVISE TO THE PUPIL
5.5.1 When you are told you have a problem (or weakness) admit it !
When you are told by your Instructors that you are having some problem with your training, you better believe it. Do not give silly excuses and try to defend yourself.
5.5.2 The un-teachable
Most people will only regard such defensive acts and attitudes as being “un-teachable” and irritating. Being too defensive or full of excuses is never appreciated.
5.5.3 They know their job
The Instructors are people with a lot more flying experience than you. They have conducted many training courses over the years. They know their job so do not blame them with things such as “So and so does not like my face”, “He is biased” etc. Instead of that ask yourself if you have those problems and start working to overcome them. Never give up quickly. Learn and correct those mistakes the Instructors point out to you. Never argue, never be defensive. Just listen, learn and fix those weaknesses in you.
5.4.4 Problem spotting & recognition
Problems that are spotted in the early phases have a better chance of being fixed simply because you have more time to work on it. Problems developed at the final stage of training are more difficult to overcome. Therefore, it is in your own interest to seek advice and assistance from your Instructor specially in areas mentioned during their de-brief sessions with you. Ultimately, what is most important is that you must first be able to recognize your own weakness and problem, otherwise how are you supposed to fix them, if you do not know they exist in the first place ?

5.6 QUALITIES IN AN INSTRUCTOR
An Instructor is seen as a man with knowledge, power, prestige, status and achievement. His style of behaviour, the way he dresses, talks and interacts with his pupils, his personal views and outlook and value he attaches to his job will have strong influence on his pupils.
