12.3.15 Khatanga-UOHH
Located on Polar 2 on the Arctic circle used throughout the year. Runway is 06/24 with dimensions 8202x157 feet. Elevation is 98 feet and the runway has a -0.6% slope for runway 06. Due to the absence of turnpads at both runway ends 180. turns are restricted. ILS & NDB approaches for both runways are available. There are no restrictions on B777-200 LR at Khatanga. Weather changes rapidly from CAVOK to blowing snow within a short time. In summer rains are common, low clouds and fog occur in spring, autumn has low clouds and snow and in winter there is frizzy fog due to industrial pollution.
12.3.16 Salekhard – USDD
Located southwest of Norilsk. The runway orientation is 04/22 and the slope is -0.46% for runway 04. Runway dimensions are 8940’ X 151’ and the variation is 24. E. ILS/NDB approach for runway 04 and NDB approach for runway 22. Unrestricted operations for B777-200 LR possible. The weather pattern during summers has occasional thunderstorms, autumn has occasional fog and during winter fog with low visibility is common.
12.3.17 Tiksi – UEST
A Military Base in northern Yakutia astride Polar-3. Runway orientation is 03/21 with a +0.07% slope for runway 03. Runway dimensions 9843’ X 194’. Elevation is 36’ and variation is 17. W. Terrain is low hills to the south and southwest. NDB approaches to the runway 03 and 21. Weather can change rapidly and very strong southwesterly winds occur because of hilly terrain.
12.3.18 Yuzhno – Sakhalinsk / Khomutovo (UHSS /UUS)
This airport lies in Southern Siberia. Terrain consists of hills within 25 miles to the East and West of the airport, which lies in the valley on the Southern end of the Sakhalin Island peninsula. These hills go up to 2,600 ft West of the field and 3,553 ft to the East. The runway is 8,743 ft in length and has an ILS on runway 01, and an NDB on runway 19. Construction is presently extending the runway to over 11,000ft. in length.
