极地运行手册 POLAR OPERATIONS MANUAL

时间:2011-10-19 13:03来源:蓝天飞行翻译 作者:航空 点击:

1.1.2  Typical wind and weather patterns prove the Polar routes to be most efficient tracks the majority of the time. However, there may be occasions when a non-polar routing is faster, more efficient, or simply required due to weather, traffic, solar activity, or other considerations. Dispatch will consider all of these factors in determining the best route for the specific day.
1.1.3  The overall conduct of Polar flights is very similar to other long-haul B777 operations. However, these operations provide some new operational challenges. Significant research and line experience serve as the foundation for our Polar operations and this section of the IFOG. The design objective3 of this section is to provide flight crews with all the information needed to conduct Polar operations safely and efficiently. While every effort will be made to keep this section up to date by the normal IFOG revision process, it is imperative to understand that changes are being made Polar operations on almost a weekly basis by different governmental agencies. Information on such changes will normally be published in Pilot Bulletins, NOTAMS, and Training Bulletins to provide more timely notification.
