Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) with a Forward Looking Terrain Avoidance (FLTA) Function A GPWS that provides a forward looking capability and terrain clearance floor, and automatically provides the flight crew with an alerting time necessary to prevent a potentially hazardous proximity to the earth’s surface and controlled flight into terrain (CFIT) events.
