Equipment aboard an aircraft that provides an audible and visual warning when there is a threat of collision with another aircraft. Equivalent Terms: Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) Aircraft Any machine that can derive support in the atmosphere from the actions of the air. Equivalent Terms: Airplane, Aeroplane, Helicopter Aircraft Component Any part or equipment for an aircraft that when fitted to, or provided in an aircraft may, if it is not sound or functioning correctly, affect the safety of the aircraft, its occupants or its cargo or cause the aircraft to become a danger to person or property; or flotation equipment, evacuation equipment, ration packs, portable breathing apparatus, fire-fighting equipment or any other equipment or apparatus fitted to, or provided in, an aircraft for use in an emergency. Equivalent Terms: Component, Aircraft Part, Part Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) A Manual produced and continuously updated by the aircraft manufacturer that contains procedures relating to the maintenance of aircraft, engines and components. Aircraft Material A material (including a fluid) for use in the manufacture, maintenance, servicing or operation of an aircraft or of an aircraft component, but does not include an aircraft component. Equivalent Terms: Consumable Aircraft Movement Operations Any moving of an aircraft that includes aircraft powerback, aircraft power-out (power-in), aircraft pushback or aircraft towing. Aircraft On Ground (AOG) The highest priority designation to process a requirement (AOG) for a spare part or many spare parts and/or maintenance action. Indicates that an aircraft is unable to continue or be returned to revenue service until the appropriate action is taken. Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM) A manual, acceptable to the State of the Operator, containing normal, abnormal and emergency procedures, checklists, limitations, performance information, details of the aircraft systems and other material relevant to the operation of the aircraft.
