SPAS Safety Performance Analysis System. Computer-based, client-server application that provides for the evaluation of safety-related aviation data.

SPAS Menu Bar Toolbar that lets you quickly access the different features of SPAS. Appears underneath the Microsoft Internet Explorer toolbar.

SPAS News and Status On-line version of all the SPAS happenings. Offers current as well as past information. Contains a history of changes to the application.

SPAS Selection Bar Toolbar that lets you change the flag display to show the information you want. Appears when a flag display is visible. Can show certain flags and folders in the display based on their status, and can also sort the display in ascending or descending order using the column headings.

SPAS Severity Factor A value from 1 to 5 where 5 represents a subjective opinion of the highest severity, danger, or risk potential. The SDR Nature & Precautionary Procedure performance measure is calculated using the assigned severity factors.

Splash Page First page you see when you access SPAS on a given day.

Start Button Left-most button on your task bar that lets you quickly start programs, or find files and applications.

Status Representation of the performance measure value. In SPAS, flag status is represented by color-coding, and acknowledgment status is represented by symbols.

Status Bar Bar that provides on-line messages and other status information from the application. Appears at the bottom of the Internet Explorer window.

Structured Search Search that lets you check a database for specific information. Used if you know some of the details of a specific record.

Summary Search Search that organizes the data into categories that you would likely use to query the database. Used if you want information about general trends or if you are not sure of the details of a specific record.

Supplemental Data Additional performance measure data in the flag display.

Supplemental Series Supporting data from external sources (such as fleet size data from NVIS) or from intermediate calculations. Appears in the graphs and table views.
