VMO/MMO Maximum Operating Limit Speed is the speed limit that may not be deliberately exceeded in normal flight operations. V is expressed in knots and M in Mach Number. V1 Take-off Decision Speed. (V1 = VR) V2 Take-off Safety Speed is the speed at 50 feet AGL. (35 feet AGL with one engine inoperative.) VR Rotation Speed VS Stalling Speed or the minimum steady flight speed at which the airplane is controllable. VS1 Stalling Speed or the minimum steady flight speed at which the airplane is controllable in a specific configuration. VSO Stalling Speed or the minimum steady flight speed at which the airplane is controllable in the landing configuration. VSSE Intentional One-Engine-Inoperative Speed is a speed above both VMCA and stall selected to provide a margin of lateral and directional control when one engine is suddenly rendered inoperative. Intentional failing of one engine below this speed is not recommended. VX Best Angle-of-Climb Speed is the airspeed which delivers the greatest gain of altitude in the shortest possible horizontal distance. VXSE One-Engine-Inoperative Best Angle-of-Climb Speed is the airspeed which delivers the greatest gain of altitude in the shortest possible horizontal distance with one engine inoperative. VY Best Rate-of-Climb Speed is the airspeed which delivers the greatest gain in altitude in the shortest possible time. VYSE One-Engine-Inoperative Best Rate-of-Climb Speed is the airspeed which delivers the greatest gain in altitude in the shortest possible time with one engine inoperative.
